Ingoldisthorpe
Neighbourhood Plan
What is a Neighbourhood Plan?
A Neighbourhood Plan is a way of recording the preferences and wishes of our village community in a way that will help to protect and improve it. More information can be found in this leaflet.
Why do we need a Neighbourhood Plan?
A Neighbourhood Plan is our way of having a say in the future of our Village. It means that our voice will be heard any time anyone wants to do something that affects our village. The Neighbourhood Plan will be an important document which will sit alongside the King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Borough Council Local Plan. It will represent the views and aspirations of our community and can be referred to regarding local issues that are not covered by the Borough's Plan.
Our plan will give Ingoldisthorpe greater control over development, allowing us to influence the type, size, and location of development in the Parish; sitting alongside the Borough Plan, its policies, amongst others, will be used to determine planning applications. It will be in place for approximately 15 years, so it is important we get it right – for present and future generations.
Initial Community Consultation Results
We are currently in the early stages of preparing this plan and have just undertaken our first initial consultation to gather community views. Thank you to everyone who took time to complete the initial survey. A total of 134 people answered the main survey with most respondents (129 people) being residents and a large number (111 people) being 50 years or above. Eight young people also answered a shorter survey.
A summary of the results of the initial consultation can be downloaded here
